Questions

How is the value of an old work updated?

Most NITs (CPWD, ISRO, many PSUs) increase the value of a completed work by 7% per year (simple) from the date it was completed to the last date of bid submission. Example: ₹30 lakh work completed 3 years ago = 30 × (1 + 0.07 × 3) = ₹36.3 lakh today.

What are the usual similar-work rules?

Three works each of 40% of the estimated cost, or two works each of 60%, or one work of 80%. Some tenders use 50% for two works – change it under “Rules in your NIT”.

What turnover is needed?

Usually the average yearly financial turnover of the last 3 years should be at least 30% of the estimated cost, certified by a CA.

What is bank solvency?

A certificate from a scheduled bank that you can arrange money up to a certain amount – often 40% of the estimated cost, issued within the last 6 months.
